Harvard's Advice For Your Career

Getting the admission offer from your dream University is often the most critical part. While you can try your best to do great at tests like GMAT, GRE, etc, there is a lot more that you can do to ensure admission.

Your test scores are only a part of your application. The rest of your application comprises your earlier grades, your certificates and your recommendations. While you can’t do much to change your earlier grades and can’t get extra certificates to give your profile a boost, you can definitely try to get the max out of your recommendations.

Have you ever wondered:

  • What do schools look for in recommendations?
  • Who to approach for a proper recommendation?
  • What separates a good recommendation from a bad recommendation?
  • In a deadlock situation, does the admissions panel use recommendations to decide admission offers?

The list of questions can go on and on. The good news is that Harvard Business School’s Director of Admissions and Financial Aid has an active blog that covers all these questions and even the simpler ones.
